The original 1999 Aliens vs Predator has been gussied up and is on sale on Steam for $4.99. The new version will be available next month in all of its gruesome glory, but players can relive the original, now updated to DirectX 9.0c.

The game will include the singleplayer content of 2000 AVP Gold Edition, but doesn't yet include multiplayer. Rebellion CEO Jason Kingsley said, "We will in due course fix up the multiplayer -- and we'll make sure it's a free download." He also admitted that "it shows its age a little bit, but it is frightening and it is difficult."

The new Aliens vs Predator will be available February 16th for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

North American's will be the lucky recipients of the Aliens vs. Predator Hunter Edition upon its release in February 2010. A similar alternative Hunter Edition will be available in Europe and Australia minus the graphic novel. The Hunter Edition will include:

• Special Collector's Edition of the original Aliens vs Predator comic
• Weyland-Yutani Corp sew-on patch
• Four exclusive multiplayer maps
• SteelBook packaging
• "3D lenticular card."
