Call of Duty: World at War Zombies Swarm iPhone

Call of Duty may have taken over the video game world, but now its zombies are taking over the iPhone. Call of Duty: World at War ZOMBIES is now available on iTunes for $9.99.

The app for iPhone and iPod Touch features the original zombie map "Nacht der Untoten" where players fight fight hordes of zombies in a barricaded bunker.

Game features include:

  • Supports up to four players via Wi-Fi/Internet and two players via Bluetooth
  • Private or open matchmaking
  • Silky smooth 3D environment with all of your favorite guns and power ups
  • Three different control schemes
  • Full list of unique achievements
  • Leaderboard support
  • Supports future DLC

Requires iPhone or iPod Touch with OS 2.2.1 or later.

Call of Duty: World at War Map Packs Half-Off in Playstation Store

Call of Duty: World at War map packs for the Playstation 3 are 50% this week in the Playstation Store. All three map-packs will be on sale until Sunday, November 1st for North America. Double-XP has also been enabled and will last until November 1st.

According to Playstation.blog there will also be important playlist changes, including: 

  • Hardcore HQ: The addition of Hardcore Headquarters to the Hardcore playlists has taken effect, by popular demand.
  • Team Flags: In the MAP PACK category, the old “Team Objective” playlist has been removed, and replaced with two playlists; Team Flags being one of them (CTF, Domination, and War).
  • Team Objectives: Also in the MAP PACK category, the counterpart to Team Flags is this new playlist, Team Objectives (S&D, HQ, and Sabotage).
  • Also, all 3 map packs are now in the MAP PACK rotation. So if you want to play only new content, but are tired of the same 3 maps, this will hopefully be a happy medium for you =)

Map Pack 1

The Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 1 expands the addictive COD multiplayer experience with four new maps. Players fight through the burning streets of Berlin in “Nightfire” and take up battle positions in fortified Japanese bunkers in "Knee Deep." “Station” offers a bombed out underground train station, and the Nazi Zombies return in “Verrückt” (Zombie Asylum) featuring more weapons, new Perks-a-Cola machines and electroshock defenses.

Map Pack 2

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 continues to expand the addictive COD multiplayer experience with four new maps.  Battle to control the river bridge in “Banzai” a bright jungle map featuring a waterfall and hidden caves.  In “Corrosion” face down your enemy in a shat tered train yard, and in “Sub Pens” wipe the monsoon rain from your eyes as you struggle over a bombed-out submarine base.  The Zombies return in “Shi No Numa” (Zombie Swamp) featuring Perk machines, the deadly new Wunderwaffe DG-2, new Achievements/Trophies and flaming Hell Hounds.

Map Pack 3

Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 3 further expands the awesome COD multiplayer experience with four brand new maps. Fight for ocean territory in "Battery," an armored island surrounded by anti-ship mines and shore to ship cannons. Watch out for sniper fire as you defend Russia's most coveted resource in "Revolution," and keep a sharp eye out through the dense, overcast city streets in "Breach," set at Berlin's historic Brandenburg Gate. Zombies return in all their undead glory with "Der Riese" (Zombie Factory), a Nazi research facility featuring the weapon upgrading Pack A Punch Machine. Use the teleporters to escape in an instant and fight to the death in pursuit of the map's 10 new Achievements/Trophies

Call of Duty: World at War DLC Available March
Treyarch recently announced the first batch of downloads for COD: World at War. Included are four maps for various multiplayer modes: Nightfire, set at night time in burning Berlin; Station, taking place in an underground railway system; Knee Deep takes players to the Pacific island of Peleliu where Japanese have converted a native village into a base; and Verruckt (German for "crazy"), a new Nazi Zombie level in a zombie infested insane asylum.

No pricing has been announced, but it is expected to range around $10.
