Gore, violence, and over 80 hours of intense RPG experience will be coming to Mac computers next week in the form of Dragon Age: Origins. Dragon Age: Origins is currently available for Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, and will be available on December 21st thanks to TransGaming portability technologies.
BioWare's Baldur's Gate inspired singleplayer RPG will be available by digital download in both the Standard and Digital Deluxe Editions. The Digital Deluxe edition comes with Warden's Keep DLC, exclusive in-game items, the digital soundtrack, and a selection of wallpapers, and both releases will include the Blood Dragon armor and Stone Prisoner DLC for free.

All you blood-thirsty Mac users can download Dragon Age: Origins from GameTree, Direct2Drive, Best Buy, GamersGate, and GameTap on December 21st for $49.95 (Standard) or $69.95 (Deluxe).
Hungary's team made quick work of the 10 team field competing in the 24-hour Dragon Age: Origins Warden's Quest Competition. Their victory netted the team $50,000, or $12,500 per team member. In second place came team Bioware Community and Canada came in a cool third.
Czech Republic was eliminated in the first stage, and Team USA only survived through the next stage before being eliminated.

Bioware announced today that the Playstation 3 copy of Dragon Age: Origins will be shipping at the same time as the Xbox 360 and PC versions. It was originally delayed two weeks for some additional work, but it seems it wrapped up early.
Dragon Age Journeys, a "3 chapter, single player, tactical rpg delivered in Flash" that will function as a stand-alone experience, but is also tied to the story and settings of Dragon Age. The first chapter will be centered around "the dwarven city of Orzammar and the Deep Roads surrounding it." The game became available to play yesterdeay, where it was also announced that, "By completing certain accomplishments in Journeys, you can unlock 3 items for use when you purchase a copy of Dragon Age: Origins for the PC, Xbox 360 or PS3."
"By playing DAJ while signed in with your EA account, these items will automatically be added to your inventory in DA:O when you sign in with that same account. These entitlements work across all three platforms."
Dragon Age: Origins is inspired by the classic, Baldur's Gate and will be available on November 3rd. The character creator utility is already available to download for those anxious to get the game started.

Groups of selected Dragon Age: Origins fans from the around the world will be rounded up and sent off to London, England for a 24-hour long gaming event on October 28th for a chance to win $50,000 and play the game before the rest of the world does.
Ten groups of fans from Canada, Poland, the United Kingdom, Spain, the Czech Republic and Hungary, France, the Netherlands, Germany, the United States as well as a team composed of fans chosen directly from the BioWare Community, are being flown to London England to compete in Dragon Age: Origins Wardens' Quest. Each team must enroll as a Grey Warden and fight the evil forces of the darkspawn.Teams will be scoring points not just for trying to get to the end of the game, but for number of enemies killed, areas explored, achievements earned and much more.
If you didn't make the team you can watch the action via live video stream. Teams from BioWare and European Dragon Age Communities will also broadcast live from the event on the Dragon Age forums, Twitter account, Facebook page and more. Fans can also support their favorites through their dedicated Facebook or Twitter pages, and will also have a chance to win some of the Dragon Age: Origins merchandise given out throughout the event.

If you haven't pre-ordered Dragon Age: Origins yet, and not sure which retailer to pre-order from, these exclusive items may help you to make up your mind. According to some research by Joystiq, most retailers (except Amazon) are offering the Memory Ring in-game item, which adds 1 percent to XP growth and also bestows players with an additional skill point.
These bonuses are available for both the Collector's Edition and most Digital Deluxe Editions.
Dragon Age: Origins ships November 3rd for Xbox 360, PC, and November 17th for PS3.
Players who don't buy Dragon Age: Origins new will still have a shot at getting the DLC released with the game. BioWare announced that 'Warden's Keep' and 'Stone Prisoner' will be available to people who buy the game used for $7 and $15.

Wardens Keep is available for free for people who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition.Stone Prisoner will ship with hard copies. Wardens Keep will include "a new dungeon-exploring adventure, new loot including a set of ancient Grey Warden armor, a chance to gain two of six mysterious new abilities, a new base complete with merchants and a party chest to store their hard-earned items."
Stone Prisoner will ship with hard copies, and will allow players to add Shale, the "mighty" stone golum to their party.
New copies will also ship with 'Blood Dragon Armor' which can be used both in Dragon Age: Origins and future Mass Effect 2. It has not been announced whether this will be purchasable by itself.
Along with the free DLC and the Blood Dragon Armor, many retailers are offering bonuses for pre-ordering.

Bioware announced that the PC character creator utility will precede the games release with an October 13 availability. This 320mb application will allow users to customize and create their character ahead of time, and load them into the game upon its November 3rd release.
The Dragon Age: Origins community site will also open up on October 13, and will allow players to upload their newly created characters to the site for unknown purposes other than to be used as an avatar.
Dragon Age: Origins is a dark and gritty single-player RPG fantasy game for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.
Dragon Age: Origins may still be delayed (with the PS3 version will be released even later) but it's hard to be too disappointed about a couple weeks when you will get so much more.
Bioware announced today that Dragon Age Origins will be packed with $15 worth of downloadable content (including armor that can also be used in the upcoming Mass Effect 2). The Stone Prisoner DLC will be free with new copies which allow users to add the stone Golum, Shale to their party and adds hours of gameplay with new quests, environments and items. The freebies will be available on both standard and collector's editions.
If you're planning on purchasing Dragon Age Origins check out different retailers for additional kickbacks.
Dragon Age: Origins will be available on November 3rd for PC and Xbox 360, and later in the month for PS3. Standard Editions will run $60 for console and $50 for PC; Collector's Editions with three exclusive downloadable items (that will provide special advantages) will go for $75 consoles, $65 PC.
A day after telling Shacknews that the game was still on target for its October 20th release date, Bioware announced that Dragon Age Origins would be delayed until November 3rd.
No details were given on the reasons for the delay, but at least fans can expect it to be out this year.
Information on websites such as Gamefly and Newegg have lead to rumors that Dragon Age Origins would be delayed a few weeks.Bioware announced today that they are "still targeting an October 20 release date" and adding that "if the release date changes, we'll issue a press release."
Gamefly and Newegg had originally changed the release dates on their listings for the game from the scheduled 10/20/09 to November 3 and November 19th on Gamefly and November 4th on Newegg.
So until there is an official press release, don't stop believing.
