RDR Getting Zombies, Multiplayer Poker, New Weapons, and More In Upcoming DLC

Can you imagine a Wild West game with Zombies? Red Dead Redemption will make this fantasy reality in one of its upcoming paid DLC. Four new expansions will bring new weapons, challenges, trophies & achievements, and both single and multiplayer expansion of gameplay. The first of the paid DLC will be available sometime next month for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to a press release from Rockstar games, the DLC promise:

1) Legends and Killers Pack (Early August 2010, $10)

-New active map locations, characters and more
- 9 new multiplayer map locations — more than doubling the amount of territories in the multiplayer competitive modes
- 8 new multiplayer characters — play as characters from Red Dead Revolver
- Introducing a new projectile weapon: the Tomahawk, with corresponding challenges for single-player and multiplayer gameplay
- New achievements and trophies

2) Liars and Cheats Pack (TBD release date; $10)

- New competitive modes, multiplayer mini-games in Free Roam, and more
- Attack and Defend multiplayer competitive mode and challenges
- New multiplayer horse races, complete with mounted combat
- Play as the heroes and villains of Red Dead Redemption, as well as 8 additional multiplayer characters
- Multiplayer versions of Liars Dice and Poker from the single-player game
- Introducing a new weapon: the Explosive Rifle, with associated challenges available in single-player and multiplayer gameplay
- New achievements and trophies

3) Free Roam Pack (TBD release date; TBD price)

-Delve deeper into the world of Red Dead Redemption with
new modes, challenges and gang hideouts to discover
-New action areas and defensive placements
-Posse scoring and leaderboards
-New anti-griefing measures in Free Roam 

4) Undead Nightmare Pack ("Fall" 2010; $10)

- Ghost towns and cemeteries come alive in a West gone horribly wrong
- Brand new single-player adventure, challenges and quests
- 8 new multiplayer zombie characters
- Additional animals unleashed in the world
- New dynamic events and more

 

I'll be putting money down that the Undead Nightmare Pack will be ready Halloween time.

Kidnapped Girl Mission Announced For Upcoming Red Dead Redemption DLC

Rockstar announced a fourth out of the six new missions for upcoming free DLC "Outlaws to the End". The mission Kidnapped Girl joins three other previously announced missions Walton's Gold, The River, and Ammunition for the co-op DLC coming later this month. 

According to Rockstar "Another gang has taken over Fort Mercer, and they're holding a farmer's daughter hostage. You and your crew will need to charge the fort and eliminate the gang with all firepower necessary - then fend off enemy reinforcements as you transport the girl by stagecoach safely to her home at Ridgewood Farm."

Other announced missions:

"Walton's Gold"
Walton's Gang have taken control of a mining camp rich with gold. Fight through the camp and load your mine cart with as much gold as you can carry and get out as fast as you can--Walton's boys have rigged the place to blow.

"The River"
Ride a raft down river, taking out rebel encampments along the way until you reach the rebel stronghold of Nosalida and a final epic battle for the town's massive weapons caches. Watch out for Gatling gun-equipped enemy rafts.

"Ammunition"
The Mexican Army has the town of Tesoro Azul under siege. Storm the gates under heavy cannon, Gatling gun and sniper fire to destroy the Mexican artillery placements.

 

"Outlaws to the End" is the first of the planned DLC for Rockstar Games' popular Western game, Red Dead Redemption. "Outlaws to the End" will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 on June 22nd for free.

Red Dead Redemption Outlaws to the End DLC Out June 22

Surprise hit Red Dead Redemption isn't leaving players on the old dustry trail with original game content. Rockstar Games announced the free co-op DLC will available for Xbox 360 and PS3 on June 22nd, spurring players to get together and complete 6 new cooperative missions.

The new missions can host up to four players, and will also bring about new cooperative challenges, new achievements and new experience awards.

'Outlaws to the End' will be the first of three DLC packs planned for the game. Some of the missions are detailed below:

Red Dead Redemption is a sequel to Red Dead Revolver (PS2, and Xbox) from Rockstar Games. This sandbox-style Western flavored game was released on May 18, 2010 and is available for the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Red Dead Redemption Movember Moustache Winner Announced

Canadian Charles Leece took home the award for the best moustache in Rockstar's competition where the winner of the best moustache would gain an appearance in Red Dead Redemption.

Meet Mo Van Barr, his moustache is worth $10 dead and only $20 alive.

Red Dead Redemption is an action-adventure sequel to Red Dead Revolver, following outlaw John Marston in his lawless ways. It will be available for PS3 and Xbox 360 and is slated for release March 24, 2010.

Sprout A 'Stache For Movember, Chance To Be In Red Dead Redemption

Calling all moustache eligible gentlemen. Rockstar Games is sponsoring Movember, an annual month-long celebration of moustaches to highlight men's health issues. Rockstar is calling on all men to participate in Movember and offering a sweet prize: one lucky moustache grower will be immortalized as a character in the upcoming game, Red Dead Redemption.
