Valentine's Day 2010 will be a special day. The pink and blue Wii remotes will finally make their journey to North America. What could be a more romantic gift than his and hers Wii remotes?
These colorful new additions to the Wii family will come with protective sleeves, and bundled with the Wii MotionPlus sensor. There's no price on these sweet Valentine's gifts, but current Wii Remote/MotionPlus bundles run $50-$55.

The new Wii Vitality Sensor was vaguely introduced at E3 2009. The device attaches to the Wiimote and clips onto a players finger to read their pulse, for unknown reasons. Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime said that Nintendo plans on expanding on the device at E3 2010 and showing it with compatible software.
"We will show off the Vitality Sensor with software [at the show]. I'm not going to give you any more hints beyond that."
The mystery will remain until the kickoff the show which is taking place June 15-17. Nintendo also has some other "surprises" planned for the next E3 involving a new Zelda game for Wii.
Nintendo UK will be releasing a black Wii system on November 6th. The limited edition bundle will include the black console, remote, nunchuk and MotionPlus adapters, as well as copies of Wii Sports and Wii Sports Resort. Nintendo will also be releasing Classic Controller Pro accessory (separate from the bundle).
No pricing has been announced for the limited edition bundle or the Classic Controller, and it is not yet known if and when North American will be getting the dark side of Wii. It was stated in July that there were no plans to release the black console for North America, but with the black controller coming out, how long can they fight it?
As for the rest of Europe, they will have to wait until November 20th to see the black system.
The black Wii Remotes and nunchuks that have been available in Japan since the summer will be available in the U.S. on November 16th. First announced in September along with new DSi colors, this is the first color change the Wii and its (official) accessories have seen since its 2006 release.
There have been no announcements made whether a matching black console will be available in the U.S. as it is in Japan.
MotionPlus adapters will be bundled with the new black remotes for $49.99 (ten dollars more than the standard Wii remote) and the nunchuks will be available for $19.99.
MotionPlus adapters are needed for games with MotionPlus technology such as Wii Sports Resort.

Kearney, based on traits such as commitment to innovation, diversified portfolios, aggressive expansion, strong leadership, and a clear vision for the future, and meeting requirements such as $10 billion in sales for 2008.
Nintendo had a 36% increase in sales annually over the past five years, and its value growth averaged 38%. According to BusinessWeek "Nintendo's continued emphasis on innovation has helped the company develop must-haves such as the DS handheld game machine and the Wii console, which outsold rival offerings from Sony and Microsoft."

If you haven't updated your Wii yet, you probably shouldn't. Nintendo Wii's 4.2 sytem update is proving to be nothing but trouble, from updates freezing, to completely bricked consoles. Users may see an error saying their Wii has been modified followed by the Wii failing to start. But, the error message is nondiscriminate, having been reported by modded Wii owners, and ones that have never been modded and some right out of the box. Others are reporting random disk read errors following the update.
It's been suggested that the issues are caused by an update to the system's bootloader, as reported to Kotaku. The user who posted this suggestion was, however, banned shortly after.
Nintendo posted that non-modded Wii owners with bricked units can send them in for a free repair. According the website:
Some of you have reported problems with your Wii console after updating to the Wii System Menu 4.2. The symptoms most people are describing usually occur when the Wii has been modified. However, some of you also mention your system has never been modified.
We'd like to help get your system working properly again. If you're experiencing problems with your Wii console after downloading Wii System Menu 4.2, and you believe your system has not been modified, please give us a call. If we find that you have a normal system and the update caused your system to not work, we'll repair it at no charge.
Please call our Customer Service Department at your earliest convenience, 1-800-255-3700. We are open 6 AM to 7 PM, Pacific Time, 7 days a week.
Nintendo announced a new limited edition Wii Sports Resort bundle that will include TWO MotionPlus add-ons instead of the typical one. The game requires all players have the MotionPlus adapters (which run $19.99 by themselves) to play.
Wii Sports Resort sells for $49.99 and comes with one MotionPlus adapter. The new bundle will include two MotionPlus adapters with the game for $59.99. It will be released October 12th, and available as supplies last!
Surprised? Shocked? No. After weeks of rumors and photo evidence of a Wii price drop, Nintendo finally announced that they would be dropping the price of the Wii to $199 on Sunday, September 27. It will be the same classic Wii package including one remote, nunchuk and copy of the original Wii Sports.
Analyst Jesse Divnich of Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR) spoke up regarding the announcement, stating "EEDAR believes Nintendo made this strategic decision to rejuvinate sales of its home console and to maintain its lead as the best selling home platform in all major regions worldwide," he wrote, saying it should be seen as "not a reactive strategy towards the recent Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 price cuts, but rather a preemptive strategic decision." He also notes the move may intend to "capture as much of the mainstream and casual market as possible before Microsoft and Sony can release their... motion capture devices."
Because of this, analysts believe the Wii will maintain its lead over the PS3 and Xbox 360.
Perhaps the most exciting part of the Nintendo announcement was in the inclusion of a November 15 release date for the New Super Mario Bros for the Wii.
A Best Buy circular leak shows the Nintendo Wii shedding $50 for a $199 price tag. Wal-Mart, Toys R Us and Target circular leaks have shown the same.
The price drop should be the last week or September or first week of October.
'Nuff said.
The latest leak on rumored Nintendo Wii price drop is a sales circular from Target, showing the $199 price tag for a September 27 date (Sunday "release", typical of Nintendo). This Target circular comes after earlier leaks from Toys R Us and Wal-mart.
Technically still a rumor, we'll have to wait for an official announcement which some say may come at the Kyoto Cross Media Experience 2009 event, which starts September 26.
Leaked ads are surfacing everywhere announcing a supposed cut for the Nintendo Wii. Following the footsteps of Sony and Microsoft, the price cut comes at a time when the Wii lags behind its competitors for the first time.

Reports surfaced of an ad from Wal-Mart which was supposed to be distributed in October, but a new photo of a Toys R Us ad shows the price cut announcement and a price of $199. The ad is supposed to be distributed the last week of September.
Nintendo denied a price cut last month, but has been mum on all of the recent reports.
Wii Fit Plus will be available on October 4, 2009 (a Sunday, typical Nintendo fashion). The new Wii Fit Plus will replace the original Wii Fit for a price tag of $99.99.
It will feature six new strength and yoga activities and fifteen more balance board games. Users will now be able to control the order and combination of exercises, and omit any interludes between exercises. Users may also customize their workout by targeting body parts or setting time intervals. The Wii Fit Plus will also keep track of calories burned.
For those who already have the Wii Fit or a balance board, the Wii Fit Plus will have a disc-only option for $19.99.
Nintendo also announced that it would no longer be charging for the Wii Internet Channel. The Opera-based browser previously cost 500 Wii Points ($5). If you already bought it, Nintendo will be giving away a Virtual Console NES game worth 500 Wii Points to make it up to you. The changes are supposed to take effect late October 2009.
Nintendo announced the Wii remote will be available in black for the holiday season. The DSi will also be getting two new colors, white, and hot pink, here in America.
The Wiimote, nunchuk and new Motionplug accessory will all be available in black this Fall. The only thing that's missing is a black console to match!
DSi will be adding two new colors to its lineup including hot pink and white. It is currently available in black and a robins egg blue. These will be available on September 13th for the regular DSi price of $169.99.
Psyclone and React Wiimote 4-dock charging stations have been recalled due to overheating. The batteries overheat causing the unit to short circuit.
Models affected are the 4-dock charging stations with serial numbers PSE6501 or RT530. They were sold at Best Buy, Target, Toys R' Us and Amazon.com from January 2008 until July 2009. They are reporting 4 affected units and no reported injuries and are recalling the product as a precaution.
If you are a proud owner of one of these you may call 888-344-4702 Monday - Friday from 9am - 5pm ESTor email productsafety@psyclonegamer.com for further instructions.
Since its release on July 26th, Wii Sports Resort has sold over 500,000 copies. According to marketing vp Carrie Dunaway "This tells us consumers were eagerly waiting to get their hands on these fun activities, and it's a great start for a game that will have long-lasting appeal."
Before the launch of the game the Motionplus accessory had already sold 500,000 units (counting those packed with games such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10).
Those who are a fan of this new technology can be sure to expect developers to develop for it!
