Asus Teams Up with Bethesda for the Premium Doom Edition RTX 5080 ROG Astral Graphics Card!

Asus has unveiled the ROG Astral RTX 5080 Doom Edition graphics card, developed in collaboration with Bethesda and ID Software. This limited edition GPU draws inspiration from the game *Doom: The Dark Ages*, featuring a color scheme that aligns with the game’s aesthetic and includes exclusive merchandise.

Graphics Card Design and Features

The ROG Astral RTX 5080 Doom Edition mirrors the specifications of the standard ROG Astral RTX 5080, boasting a substantial 3.8-slot form factor and a robust cooling system with four fans—three located on the shroud and one on the backplate. This special variant substitutes the original color palette for a dark green and gold scheme, adorned with graphics and logos reflective of the *Doom* franchise.

Cooling and Performance

Cooling is enhanced through a patented vapor chamber heatsink paired with a milled heat spreader and phase-change thermal pad, replacing traditional thermal paste. The card is equipped with an RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of GDDR7 memory, and operates at a default boost clock of 2,760MHz, which can be overclocked to 2,790MHz.

Unique Fan Elements

The fans on the card include unique design features, with the right and rear fans colored green to represent the Shield Saw weapon from *Doom: The Dark Ages*. The heatsink complements this theme with a gold finish, further enhancing the overall aesthetic.

Packaging and Availability

In addition to the graphics card, buyers will receive exclusive items such as a T-shirt, mouse pad, yellow key card, and an ROG-exclusive *Doom Slayer Legionary* in-game skin. A Premium Edition of the game will also be available for purchase alongside the card. Notably, the card will be sold exclusively through the Bethesda Gear Store, where it has humorously been listed with a placeholder price of $666,666.66.

Pricing Expectations

While actual pricing and availability details remain undisclosed, the limited nature of the Doom Edition suggests it will cost significantly more than the standard RTX 5080 model. Availability is expected to coincide with the release of *Doom: The Dark Ages* on May 14.
