The ASUS ATS RX 9070 GRE OC edition is set to launch soon, marking the arrival of the first Radeon RX 9070 GRE. This graphics card is being released exclusively for the Chinese market and is based on AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture.
Specifications and Features of the RX 9070 GRE
AMD traditionally introduces GRE (Golden Rabbit Edition) GPUs specifically for China, following previous models like the RX 6750 GRE and RX 7900 GRE. The RX 9070 GRE will feature a trimmed NAVI 48 die, which boasts 3072 Stream Processors and is paired with 12 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. The card operates with a total board power (TBP) of 220W and can reach a boost clock of 2880 MHz in overclock mode. It requires two 8-pin PCI-E power connectors and is recommended to be used with a power supply of at least 750W.
This model is positioned as a budget-friendly option between the RX 9060 XT and the RX 9070, as it offers an upgrade in VRAM from the RX 9060 XT’s 8 GB, while being more affordable than the RX 9070 models, which offer up to 16 GB of VRAM. The RX 9070 GRE is priced at approximately 4,499 RMB, with a special pre-order price of 4,476 RMB available until its release date.
Pricing and Availability
The RX 9070 GRE is expected to launch in China on May 8. With a post-VAT price of around 3359 RMB, the equivalent in US dollars is approximately $450, making it nearly $100 less than the official MSRP of the RX 9070.
While the exact performance metrics are yet to be confirmed, early indications suggest that the RX 9070 GRE will not match the RX 9070’s capabilities but should outperform the RX 9060 XT, positioning it as a more viable option for budget-conscious consumers looking to enhance their gaming experience.
