Patch 7.2 of Final Fantasy XIV, the second major update in the Dawntrail series, is set to launch with a range of new content. This will be released incrementally through a series of micropatches, providing players with plenty to engage with even before the main narrative and new raid tier are introduced.
Maintenance Schedule for FFXIV
The FFXIV servers will undergo maintenance starting on Monday, March 24, lasting for a total of 24 hours. The maintenance will begin at the following times across different regions:
- 3 a.m. PDT (North America West Coast)
- 6 a.m. EDT (North America East Coast)
- 10 a.m. GMT (United Kingdom)
- 11 a.m. CET (Western Europe/Paris)
- 7 p.m. JST (Japan/Tokyo)
- 9 p.m. AEDT (Australia/Sydney)
During this window, the Moogle Treasure Trove event will conclude. Players should ensure they complete their tome collection before maintenance begins, although they can still spend their tomes after patch 7.2 launches.
Patch 7.2 Release Timing
Patch 7.2 is expected to go live on Tuesday, March 25, coinciding with the same times listed above. Notably, this release will occur after the regular weekly reset, preventing players from exploiting the new weekly raid for additional rewards. However, players who log on shortly after maintenance ends can complete their dailies before the daily reset time.
New Content in FFXIV Patch 7.2
This update will continue the main scenario quest of Dawntrail and delve into the mysteries surrounding Queen Sphene in Solution Nine. Players can look forward to a new dungeon, The Underkeep, and a new trial named Recollection. The second raid tier of the expansion will also debut, introducing confrontations with unique enemies, including a disco-themed Viera.
While players will have access to a substantial amount of content upon release, additional features will be introduced later. Savage raids will be unlocked a week after the patch goes live, and new crafting and gathering content titled “Cosmic Exploration” will arrive in April as part of patch 7.21. Finally, new relic weapons and the field operation “Occult Crescent” will be made available in May through patch 7.25. Thus, this patch is packed with content, but much of it will roll out gradually.
