Canadian overclocker known as saltycroissant has set a new benchmark by reaching an impressive 12,806 MT/s on the Z890 platform, marking a significant milestone in DDR5 memory performance.
Saltycroissant Breaks World Record for DDR5 Speed
Just a day after the previous record of 12,774 MT/s was established by the overclocker bl4ckdot, saltycroissant outperformed this feat, showcasing his expertise in overclocking. Utilizing Corsair Vengeance DDR5 memory on the ASRock Z890 Taichi OCF motherboard, he achieved this groundbreaking speed.
Saltycroissant is no stranger to setting records; he has consistently topped the charts in DDR5 overclocking. His latest achievement was made possible by employing nitrogen cooling, combined with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor. The breakthrough shattered previous records, which typically ranged between 12,700 and 12,800 MT/s, with bl4ckdot’s earlier record being narrowly surpassed by only 2 MHz.
The results of this achievement are documented on HWBot and have received validation from CPU-Z, confirming the authenticity of the performance metrics.
Remarkably, saltycroissant maintained the same cache latency as bl4ckdot’s record of CL68-127-127-127-2 while achieving a higher memory speed. This indicates potential for further improvements in DDR5 performance without sacrificing timing efficiency. ASRock has publicly recognized his accomplishment through their official channels.
The Z890 platform continues to dominate the DDR5 overclocking scene, with the ASRock Z890 Taichi OCF standing out as a premier motherboard for reaching high frequencies. As the race to break records intensifies, surpassing the 13,000 MT/s threshold appears to be within reach, albeit challenging due to the significant 200 MT/s gap that remains. Dominant brands like V-Color, G.Skill, and Corsair are actively pushing the boundaries with faster and higher-capacity DDR5 memory modules.
