EA Celebrates Phenomenal Launch of Split Fiction with Nearly 4 Million Copies Flying Off the Shelves!

Split Fiction, the latest cooperative adventure from Hazelight Studios, has reportedly reached close to 4 million copies sold. This achievement was highlighted in Electronic Arts’ financial report for the fiscal year 2025, where the game was cited as a significant contributor to a “strong finish” alongside EA Sports FC 25.

Developer and Community Response

In response to the financial report, Hazelight Studios took to their official social media platform to celebrate the game’s success. They expressed their gratitude, noting, “4 million sold! So many of you have picked up Split Fiction already, it’s amazing…Seeing the fun you have with our game and the love you show for Mio, Zoe, and each other warms our hearts here at Hazelight.

Comparison with Previous Titles

Hazelight’s former title, It Takes Two, won game of the year in 2021 and achieved over 20 million copies sold by March 2025. While Split Fiction still has a significant distance to cover to match this figure, it appears to be on the right trajectory.

Upcoming Adaptations

Additionally, it was announced recently that a film adaptation of Split Fiction is in the works, featuring Sydney Sweeney as one of the two female leads. The specific role she will portray remains undisclosed, and further casting details have yet to be revealed. Jon M. Chu, known for directing Wicked, will helm the adaptation, and the script will be written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who are recognized for their work on Deadpool and Wolverine.

Future Releases in the Franchise

EA’s fiscal wrap-up also provided insights into future titles, confirming that a new Battlefield game is set to be unveiled this summer, with a release anticipated before April 2026. Furthermore, a new installment of the Skate series is expected to launch during the same timeframe.
