Is That Inner Voice Your Best Friend or Worst Enemy?

Is That Inner Voice Your Best Friend or Worst Enemy?

In the game Avowed, players are introduced to the quest “Message From Afar” early on, which takes them to the northwestern region of Dawnshore to investigate the Strangleroot. During this quest, players will encounter a formidable bear, interact with a new NPC, and engage in a significant dialogue with the mysterious Voice that has been haunting them.

Exploring the Voice’s Offer

As players near the conclusion of their conversation with the Voice, they face a critical decision: whether to accept the Voice’s proposal or to decline it. This choice carries weight, influencing not only your relationship with the Voice but also your perception of it throughout your journey.

Regardless of the path taken, both options are valid, allowing players to choose based on their preferences. Players should listen to their instincts, as neither choice results in a negative outcome for the storyline.

  • Choosing to assist the Voice: This decision grants the player the Dream Touch godlike ability, which is an active skill capable of healing and reviving allies while simultaneously inflicting damage over time on enemies like Delemgan, Dreamthralls, and Vessels.
  • Opting not to assist the Voice: Choosing this path rewards an ability point instead.

In practical terms, helping the Voice may seem like the more advantageous option, as the Dream Touch ability proves to be incredibly beneficial throughout the game, potentially outweighing the value of a single ability point. However, the choice remains entirely in the player’s hands. Declining the offer allows for the investment in personal skills, presenting a compelling alternative.

It’s essential to note that the decision made in this moment is permanent. Nevertheless, players will encounter numerous other choices as they advance in Avowed, ensuring that opportunities to earn additional rewards will still arise.

Avowed is currently available on Xbox Series X and PC.
