Hewlett Packard Enterprise (NYSE: HPE) has recently implemented a cutting-edge Wi-Fi 6E solution at Notre Dame Stadium, home to the University of Notre Dame’s Fighting Irish football team. This deployment marks the stadium as the first in higher education to utilize the newly approved 6 GHz spectrum outdoors, as sanctioned by the Federal Communications Commission. The initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance wireless connectivity across the university’s indoor and outdoor environments, incorporating a multi-phase approach.
Private 5G Pilot Program
In addition to the Wi-Fi 6E deployment, HPE is collaborating with the Notre Dame Wireless Institute to launch a private 5G (P5G) pilot program. This initiative aims to explore various applications and advancements in wireless technology within the university’s infrastructure, further enhancing the overall connectivity experience.
