The sign-up form for the OnLive Beta is now available. Participants must be 18 years or older, and must have a computer running Vista or XP or an Intel based Mac. The beta is expected this summer, with a full release tentatively the end of 2009.

OnLive is a Games on Demand service which will deliver the latest high-end titles to TVs and computers over broadband through a small set-top box. No downloads, installs or consoles needed.

According to the OnLive website:

  • Connect to OnLive with your TV, PC or Mac and start a game
  • Your game runs in a state-of-the-art OnLive game server center
  • OnLive connects you to game servers through the Internet, instantly sending your controller actions upstream and the results back downstream at blinding fast speeds
  • Enjoy ultra high-performance gameplay on your TV or entry-level PC or Mac

Titles already featured on the site include F.E.A.R. 2, Crysis, Bioshock, Prince of Persia, GTA 4 and more. OnLive has signed with EA, Take-Two and Ubisoft.

There is no word yet on pricing, but they have said that they will be competitive with other subscription services such as Xbox Live.
