Ezio Goes to Rome in Next Assassin’s Creed
Ubisoft teased us with the fact that the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series would feature multiplayer, and left us hanging with little details. A little more information was made available with an investors conference where Ubisoft CEO made a couple statements about the upcoming game. A continuation of Assassin’s Creed II (which has sold 8 million copies to date), the third game will follow Ezio as he travels to Rome to take on the Knights Templar.
“There has been a lot of excitement around the next installment of [the] Assassin’s Creed franchise,” Ubisoft CEO Yves Guilletmot told investors. “What we can say today is that it marks the return of the now legendary Ezio, but this time he will strike directly at the heart of the Templars order in Rome. In addition to this full new adventure, players will also be able to challenge their friends in a very innovative assassination multiplayer.”
Guilletmot couldn’t be pressed for more input on the multiplayer, but he stated that most games today generally come with cooperative multiplayer elements.
