Since its release on July 26th, Wii Sports Resort has sold over 500,000 copies. According to marketing vp Carrie Dunaway “This tells us consumers were eagerly waiting to get their hands on these fun activities, and it’s a great start for a game that will have long-lasting appeal.”

Before the launch of the game the Motionplus accessory had already sold 500,000 units (counting those packed with games such as Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10).
