It’s been discovered that Rage runs faster on an Xbox 360 than a PS3. According to Edge magazine Rage matches a PC’s 60 fps on an Xbox 360 and lags far behind on the PS3 with a mere 20-30 fps. id Software John Carmack does not dispute this.

In his interview in Edge magazine he states “The PS3 lags a little bit behind in terms of getting the performance out of it.” “The rasteriser is just a little bit slower–no two ways about that.” He adds, “The RSX is slower than what we have in the 360. The CPU is about the same, but the 360 makes it easier to split things off, and that’s what a lot of the work has been, splitting it all into jobs on the PS3.”

There is still time before the games unknown release date possibly in 2010 for PS3 performance to catch up.
