It has been revealed that Resident Evil: Afterlife will start off a new series of Resident Evil movies. According to writer/director Paul W.S. Anderson, "I don’t regard it as Resident Evil 4, I regard it as a re-tooling and rebirth of the entire franchise. I wanted to kick off a brand new trilogy." Paul also revealed that the movie will use stereoscopic 3D and use the same camera system James Cameron used in his upcoming film Avatar.

Milla Jovovitch will star in this 2010 supposedly reprising her role as Alice.
